Five-time Tony Award winner Angela Lansbury is back home on Broadway starring as lobbying busybody Mrs. Sue-Ellen Gamadge in Gore Vidal’s The Best Man. Photographer Annie Leibovitz captured Lansbury in her element, perched in the wings of Broadway’s majestic Schoenfeld Theatre, for the April issue of Vanity Fair. This is the Broadway legend’s first show at the Schoenfeld, but her notable roster of credits includes Sweeney Todd, A Little Night Music, Blithe Spirit, Gypsy and Mame. In The Best Man, also starring Eric McCormack, James Earl Jones and John Larroquette, Mrs. Gamadge is involved in a heated political race for the presidency. Savor this hot shot of the gorgeous Ms. Lansbury, then see her in this new revival of a classic political drama, opening officially on April 1.
